Commercial Laundry Systems of the Rockies donates $1,300 to St. Jude
August 2016 — Commercial Laundry Systems of the Rockies recently concluded an initiative to donate a percentage of profits, gleaned from equipment sales during May and June 2016, to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (St. Jude). Together with his family, owner Pete Valconesi recently presented a check for $1,300 to the hospital. He hopes to donate even more next year.
“It’s a starting point from which we hope to build,” said Valconesi of the donation. “As an owner of a laundry equipment distributorship, I’m thankful to be in a place where I can give back to help sick children,” he said. By providing a portion of profits to St. Jude each year, Commercial Laundry Systems of the Rockies and its customers are contributing to a great cause, he said.
St. Jude, which focuses on understanding, treating and defeating childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases, has helped grow the survival rate for childhood cancer from less than 20 percent in 1962 to more than 80 percent today, according to the hospital’s website.
